Jill Wiseman, MA, LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor
Jill Wiseman has a lifelong passion for helping others, based on her belief that we all have an innate ability to make life good. At times, individuals, couples and families may experience challenges that require learning new skills or strategies. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed with stress or stuck in our thinking and perspective. Jill's approach to therapy allows her to partner with clients and offer additional support as they navigate life and pursue their goals with action and optimism.
Jill earned her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston - Clear Lake, and a Bachelors in Psychology from Texas A&M University. During graduate school, Jill completed intensive internship experience at the Star of Hope Transitional Living Center, UHCL Psychological Services Clinic, and the Houston Family Institute group private practice. Additionally, Jill gained valuable experience volunteering as a grief support group facilitator at Bo’s Place, a non-profit bereavement center.
Jill found her passion for children and families struggling with learning disorders when she began working at a private, K-12 school specializing in serving students with learning disabilities and developmental delays. As a private school counselor, Jill provided direct services including counseling, case management, psycho-education, family therapy and assessment while serving a dual role as a school administrator. She collaborated extensively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and established herself as a respected service provider in the community. In 2020, Jill was asked by the Board of Directors to serve as Acting Head of School. Although she embraced the challenge of leading a school during the pandemic, Jill soon realized that she really missed her work as a counselor.
In 2022, Jill decided to return to her first love - partnering with clients who are struggling to make life good. In private practice counseling, Jill uses her clinical expertise and twenty-four years of experience to build therapeutic relationships that empower clients to pursue their goals with action and optimism. She works in person at two separate group practices, serving different communities, and in 2024 opened her own telehealth private practice. Jill thrives on working with a broad range of clients, including adults, adolescents, children, families and couples. Additionally, in 2018 Jill qualified as a Clinical Supervisor for associate counselors gaining the experience required for licensure; she enjoys the opportunity to mentor, coach, teach and encourage other professionals in the counseling field.
In February 2024, Jill had the opportunity to participate in an intensive 21-hour training for Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and she found another passion! After witnessing the effectiveness of this evidence-based, short-term therapeutic approach, Jill delights in using it with clients, who find it to be creative, calming and impactful. Jill is Certified in A.R.T. (basic) and will be doing the Advanced and Enriched level training in the fall of 2024.
In addition to her work as licensed counselor, Jill enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing the french horn in church, volunteering with a community band, kayaking and getting outdoors with her dog. She is a past-Board member and current Advisory Council member for the Houston-Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Jill is a clinical member of the Texas Counseling Association and American Counseling Association, and she frequently presents at professional conferences, schools and other non-profit organizations throughout the Houston community.

Sand Dollar Vision
For many, the sand dollar reminds us of our connection to the natural world and the wonders it holds. For others, it is a symbol of personal growth and transformation.
If you carefully break open a sand dollar, you'll find five tiny white 'doves'; these are said to symbolize peace and joy.
Like a sand dollar, I believe each of us has the power to transform our feeling of "brokeness" to make life good!
